BOOTHBAY — Boothbay darted out to a 24-4 firstquarter lead and never looked back in an 83-27 Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset, which fell to 0-2 and hosts Telstar on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The 2-0 Seahawks led 45-8 at the half and 71-17 through three quarters.
“We’re thin, young, with little varsity experience, but there is no place to go but up,” said Wiscasset coach Dana Lawrence.
John Hepburn led Boothbay with a game-high 20 points, while Jacob Leonard added 13 and Nick Burge 12. The Seahawks were 9-of-15 from the free-throw line.
Brandon Sprague paced Wiscasset with 13 points, followed by Kevin Lynch with nine. The Wolverines finished 7-of-15 from the charity stripe.
