Santa Claus made appearances in Bath and Brunswick last weekend to help kick off the holiday season, and will be returning to Brunswick on Saturday.
Santa will be visiting children of all ages from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 6, at Pejepscot Historical Society’s Skolfield-Whittier House, located at 161 Park Row in Brunswick.
Due to the addition of natural gas heat, the house will be open for broader enjoyment during this year’s visit from Santa. Guests are invited to take free guided tours of the house at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30. Bowdoin College’s a cappella group Miscellania will be on hand to provide musical entertainment.
Next door at the Pejepscot Museum, PHS will offer refreshments and holiday shopping. Among the items for sale are 2015 calendars, featuring colorful vintage postcard images of local waterside scenes, greeting cards, and ornaments.
Also at the Pejepscot Museum will be a new exhibit titled “In and Out of Context: Textile Arts.” Curated by volunteer Jill Snyder Wallace, this exhibit pairs the 19th- and early 20th-century textile artworks of the Skolfield-Whittier family with pieces by contemporary textile artists.
Admission to this event is free. Families are asked to bring their own cameras to photograph their children’s visits with Santa.
