BOSTON — Susan Boisvert, a senior risk management consultant for Coverys and a Brunswick resident, is one of the most recent recipients of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management’s (ASHRM) Fellowship Award.

The award recognizes outstanding individual achievement and professional excellence in the health care risk management profession.

To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet criteria in areas of academic and professional designations, continuing education, employment experience and contributions to the field of health care risk management through leadership, lecturing and publishing. All potential recipients for the fellowship position undergo a thorough review by the ASHRM board of directors.

“This award is a testament to Susan’s dedication and hard work in health care risk management,” said Tara Gibson, vice president of risk management at Coverys. “Her industry leadership and contributions to the field of clinical risk management make her the ideal choice for this welldeserved honor. We are proud to have her as a member of the Coverys team to share her skills and knowledge with our policyholders and clients.”

Before joining Coverys, Boisvert gained extensive knowledge of the health care risk management field through more than 30 years of experience in direct patient care, clinical leadership and risk management. She is a registered nurse and currently serves on the Journal of Healthcare Risk Management editorial review board and the ASHRM Advocacy Task Force. She is president-elect of the Northern New England Society for Healthcare Risk Management and a past recipient of the Polly Gagnon Distinguished Member award.
