Over the years, Jennifer DeChant has made valuable and numerous contacts with businesses small and large in and around Bath, and is committed to understanding their problems and to fashioning steps to be taken in Augusta to make it easier to do business here. Her work at the Chocolate Church Arts Center has expanded her understanding and appreciation of the “creative economy” which not only enriches the cultural life of the midcoast region, but brings people to Bath from all over the state. Jennifer has found a way to combine her excellent legislative skills and experience with her “day job” of fostering cultural programs that benefit not only people, but small businesses as well. Re-elect Jennifer DeChant as State Representative of Bath.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
