As Maine becomes a more graying state, it is critical that we elect officials who care deeply about senior issues. For more than 30 years, Diane Denk has been involved in volunteer work that benefits seniors. She volunteered for 20 years with Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly, a group that pairs seniors with younger friends.
For 12 years, she has served as a hospice volunteer. Hospice work requires a great deal of compassion and empathy. She visits men and women with profound health impairments who may not even be able to communicate. She brings kindness and caring and reassures them that someone will care for them to the end.
We believe these attributes would make Diane an excellent state representative for House District 9 (Kennebunkport and parts of Kennebunk and Biddeford) and urge you to vote for her on Nov. 4.
