Instructor: Hannah Ineson OFFERED 2 NEW TIMES: Sept. 23, 24, 25 9am – 1pm, $180 Oct.7, 8, 9 9am – 1pm $180
This is a great class for beginners (yes, you can do it!), as well as accomplished painters looking for a fun way to find new images, and loosen up. Learn some easy decorative lettering, drawing and watercolor techniques, composition and more. You’ll go home with your own journal packed full of images from our surrounding area and plenty of ideas for more.
What is an “illustrated journal?” It’s a small book of watercolor paper in which you record images and text around any theme. Traditionally used to record memories while traveling, your journal can also record family memories, images of your hometown, favorite recipes, visits to restaurants, any theme that gets you into action. We’ll provide recommendations on materials that fit in a small bag or purse. You’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish! “For the joy and delight of your soul!” Diana Hollingsworth Gessler

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
