TOPSHAM — Mary Butler and Mary Cormier scored a goal each as the Bangor High School girls soccer team escaped Topsham with a 2-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win on Thursday over Mt. Ararat.
In a rematch of last year’s Eastern Maine Class A regional final, won by the Rams in overtime, 2-1, Bangor was able to hold off an Eagles rally.
Libby Ouellette scored the lone goal for Mt. Ararat, which fell to 3-3-1 and visits Oxford Hills on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

The host Roadrunners jumped out to a 3-1 halftime lead and held off a Lisbon rally in Mountain Valley Conference action at Strong.
Trevor Brackley, Henry Kearing and Courtland Talmage tallied for Mt. Abram (5-1), while Tristen Dyer had seven saves, including a key deflection with four minutes remaining in regulation.
Austin Fournier scored the lone goal for Lisbon, which dropped its second straight game to fall to 5-2 and hosts St. Dom’s on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Goaltender Ryley Austin had 10 stops.
