BIDDEFORD — The University of New England will host USA Hockey’s Women’s National Team Evaluation Camp Sept. 12-15 at the Harold Alfond Forum on the Biddeford Campus.
The event will help evaluate player progression and provide training guidelines as they prepare for upcoming opportunities with the U.S. Women’s National Team.
The daily schedule will consist of strength and conditioning sessions, practices and a total of three intrasquad scrimmages over the four-day period. Students in UNE’s Applied Exercise Program will be involved with the team’s strength and conditioning activities. All games and practices are open to the public at no charge.
“We’re looking forward to bringing our evaluation camp to UNE and creating a high-quality experience for everyone involved,” said Reagan Carey, director of women’s hockey at USA Hockey. “They have a very nice facility that will accommodate our needs and produce the proper training environment for the development of our players. We are also happy to feature the top level of our sport to young hockey players in the Maine/New Hampshire area.”
