BRUNSWICK

Soon, the NFL regular season will be here, and the Times Record reader football picks contest will be under way.

Make sure you’re part of the fun, with a chance to win a weekly prize.

Every Thursday throughout the NFL season, we will feature up-to-date news from around the league, along with a look at the weekend slate of games in our “TR Touchdown Thursday” page.

We’re also giving our readers a chance to get in on the action by making their weekly predictions — with an opportunity to take home a gift certificate from Admiral Steakhouse.

Beginning Aug. 29, we will provide an NFL schedule each week in The Times Record. All you need to do is clip it, make your picks and either drop your picks off to our office, located at 3 Business Parkway, or mail the picks in (3 Business Parkway, Suite 1, Brunswick ME 04011). Picks must be received by 4 p.m. on the Friday preceding the upcoming NFL weekend slate of games.

Readers have several opportunities to get their picks. The poll will be printed in The Times Record every Monday and Tuesday (with no paper on Labor Day, your first chance is Friday, Aug. 29). Online subscribers can print the poll, make their picks and mail or drop off at The Times Record. Polls can also be picked up in The Times Record office. No purchase is necessary. Picks must be mailed or dropped off in our office. No emails, please!

The Times Record staff will try to show off their skills in picking the weekly winners as well. Don’t expect much! I’m sure our faithful readers will be able to do much better than most of us.

Thursdays are not the only day to get your NFL fix. With busy Sundays, and Monday Night and Thursday Night football, the NFL will be featured just about every day in The Times Record.

Local businesses can get in on the action. For the low price of $39, businesses can make their picks and advertise. You can’t beat it! This special section will run on Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 3, and the winning advertiser will get his/her campaign paid by The Times Record. Contact a Times Record sales representative to find out more about the Football Scorecard by calling 729-3311.

The NFL season kicks off Sept. 4 when the Green Bay Packers take on the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. The New England Patriots visit AFC East rival the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 7 as the regular season kicks into full gear.

Make sure you’re part of the action with your hometown paper, The Times Record.
