PORTLAND — Martin’s Point Health Care recently announced that Kathleen Shannon has joined its organization as director of Internal and Executive Communications. In this role, Shannon will focus on communication strategies to support employee engagement and connection to strategic initiatives. She will also be supporting senior leaders to advance the mission and culture of the organization.

Shannon comes to Martin’s Point from WCSH6-TV, where she has hosted the evening newsmagazine show “207” since its debut 11 years ago. She has also served as a NewsCenter investigative reporter as well as an anchor and reporter at the station from 1995-1999. She received two of the Edward R. Murrow Awards for Excellence in Reporting. In addition to her work with WCSH6-TV, Shannon also anchored and reported for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis and KNSD-TV in San Diego.

Shannon said, “I am elated and grateful for the opportunity to put my listening, creative, and storytelling skills to use as part of the Martin’s Point team. I had dreamed for years of transitioning into an organization whose passion for the public good and fulfilling the need for reliable, critical information I share. Martin’s Point exceeds all of my hopes.”

“Kathleen brings with her a wealth of communications experience and knowledge,” said Teresa Schultz, Martin’s Point vice president of Human Resources. “We are delighted to be able to welcome her to the Martin’s Point family and look forward to her positive contributions to our work and goals.”
