In this new role, Pednault will develop and maintain contacts with educational institutions, employment and state agencies, placement firms, and other referral sources. She’ll also be responsible for interviewing and evaluating applicants, and serving as a resource for other vocational directors and offices.
Pednault, who has been with Work Opportunities Unlimited for seven years, has held several positions within the organization, including business developer, business development team leader and director in Training. Previously, her responsibilities included supporting clients in the field, training team members, setting placement goals, and facilitating partnerships.
“Sarah has been a top business developer company-wide for two years in a row, and in the top 10 for five years running. A great advocate for our programs, Sarah has built solid relationships with referral sources and employers. Additionally, she has proven her leadership by increasing the number of individuals obtaining employment,” said David Dwyer, senior vice president and vocational division leader at Work Opportunities Unlimited. “She’s professional, hardworking, client-focused, results-oriented, and great at job matching.”
Pednault works out of Work Opportunities Unlimited’s Portland office, covering the Portland, Brunswick and Augusta markets.
“My favorite part of the job is teaching team members how to succeed, providing them with best practices that have worked well for me. It’s rewarding to watch people take the lessons you’ve given them and achieve their own successes,” Pednault said.
Before joining Work Opportunities Unlimited, Pednault worked as general manager at Wendy’s Restaurant in Falmouth. She has also worked as the administrator of her husband’s property management company, bidding on jobs, scheduling work and providing estimates.
