PORTLAND — The Cumberland County Regional Assessing office recently welcomed Renee Lachapelle as assistant assessor and Joe Merry as appraiser.
Lachapelle brings 30 years of real estate and assessing experience. She is a Certified Maine Assessor, a licensed State Certified General Appraiser, and has an SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute. Previously with the city of Auburn for 13 years, Lachapelle spent the last five as the city’s assessor.
Merry has been a full-time appraiser since 1993. He has a Maine real estate appraisal license and currently holds a Maine certified residential appraisal license. Merry has been the owner/operator of Merriland Appraisal Service since 1997. Prior to that, Merry was the owner/general contractor of a residential real estate construction company.
“Renee and Joe bring extensive knowledge of all aspects of real estate appraisal and assessing to Cumberland County,” said Gary James, director of Regional Assessing for Cumberland County. “Their deep and diverse experience make them experts in the field and incredible additions to the Regional Assessing program.”
