BRUNSWICK —The Frances Perkins Center announces its inaugural Public Policy Forum featuring former Congressman Barney Frank. The event takes place Monday, July 14, at the Coleman Burke Event Gallery at Fort Andross, 14 Maine Street in Brunswick, beginning at 6 p.m. with a light reception and the program beginning at 7 p.m.
In a Congressional career over three decades, former Congressman Barney Frank – like Frances Perkins, committed to economic opportunity for all – fought to counteract the growing economic disparity among Americans.
Registration is required, and the ticket price for the pre-event reception is $35 on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets may be purchased online at http://ppforum. brownpapertickets.com /, by calling 563-3374, e-mailing the Center at info@francesperkinscenter.o rg, or visiting our downtown Damariscotta office and exhibit center. Space is limited, so purchase tickets as soon as possible.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
