BRUNSWICK — Maine State Music Theatre will hold a Civil War-style Ball on June 14th at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 2 Columbus Drive in Brunswick. Tickets for the ball are $35 for individuals and $50 for couples and are available at www.msmt.org or by calling (207) 725-8769.
The Chamberlain Ball gala named for the great Civil War hero from Maine, Joshua Chamberlain will include dancing (with dance cards) to an authentic Civil Warera fiddle band, hors d’oeurves, themed photo booth and the opportunity to dance with the cast of MSMT’s “Chamberlain: A Civil War Romance.” Costumes are encouraged (but not required) and the evening will also include a costume contest. Cash Bar.
Against a backdrop of thrilling music, grand battle scenes and a compelling romance, the newly written production of “CHAMBERLAIN: A Civil War Romance” — on stage June 25 through July 12 — explores his heroic participation in the Battle of Gettysburg and his impact on the State of Maine.
