CUMBERLAND — Maquila DiMastrantonio scored in the waning seconds to lift Massabesic to a 7-6 victory over Greely in an inter-class girls lacrosse game on Friday afternoon.

Rayne Whitten scored a game-high four goals for the Mustangs (6-1), including three in the first half as Massabesic led 5-2 at the break.

The Rangers (3-3) ran off three-straight goals to tie the game at 5-5, but Whitten scored again to make it 6-5 before Greely’s Katherine Leggat-Barr scored to tie the game back up, setting the table for DiMastrantonio’s late game-winner.

Kennebunk 19, Messalonskee 9

KENNEBUNK — With a steady rain falling, Kennebunk outscored Messalonskee 12-4 in the second half on the way to a 19-9 victory in an inter-class girls lacrosse game on Friday at Veteran’s Memorial Field.

Kyra Schwartzman and Jenny Bush led the Rams with six goals each, including three apiece in the second half. Carly Sandler scored all three of her goals in the second half for the Rams (6-1), while Allie Truman added one, Olivia Sandford two and Kristin Wiewal found the net for the first time this year to start the second-half run.

Bella Kudas stoped nine Messalonskee (4-2) shots in goal for Kennebunk.

Boys Lacrosse

Kennebunk 13, Cheverus 12

KENNEBUNK — Bo Beveridge scored in double overtime to give Kennebunk a 13-12 victory in an inter-class boys lacrosse game on Friday night at a soggy Veteran’s Memorial Field.

The Stags (4-4) had led 8-4 at halftime, but the Rams (3-4) responded with five-straight goals to take a 9-8 lead midway through the third quarter. Kennebunk held the slim advantage into the fourth, when Cheverus scored to tie the game at 12-12 and send things into overtime.

Softball

Wells 15, Yarmouth 10

WELLS — Jordan Agger racked up five RBI on three hits to lead Wells to a 15-10 victory over Yarmouth in a slugfest of a Western Maine Conference softball game on Friday.

Wells improved to 9-1 with the victory, while Yarmouth fell to 4-6.

Maddie Taylor, Lauren Bame and Kaitlyn Tufts also all had three hits for the Warriors, while Stephanie Woods and Christina LeBlanc added two apiece.

Bame got the complete-win on the mound. For the week Bame pitched in complete games, including 14 innings on Thursday against Falmouth, going 3-0 with 34 striekouts and and walks.

Thornton Academy 28, Deering 3

SACO — Bailey Tremblay went 4-for-5, including a home run, with five RBI and four runs scored and pitched a five-inning complete game as Thornton Academy routed Deering in an SMAA softball game on Friday.

Libby Pomerleau went 4-for-5 with three RBi and three runs scored, while Kaylee Burns was 3-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored and Kaiya O’Connor 2-for-3 with two RBI and four runs scored for the Trojans (5-3).

Tremblay allowed four hits and struck out six Rams (0-9) in the win.

Boys Tennis

Thornton Academy 5, Bonny Eagle 0

STANDISH — Thornton Academy remained undefeated as the Golden Trojans topped Bonny Eagle 5-0 in an SMAA boys tennis match on Friday afternoon.

Victor Menezes beat Sam Cliff 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match, while David Parran downed Nick Bean 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 and Mitch Dehetre topped Ryan Moody 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3.

The Trojans (8-0) also got the better of the Scots (2-6) in both doubles matches. Will Caras and Eric Gooch beat Zack Moody and David Adams 7-5, 6-2 and dylan Gooch partnered with Simon Belliveau to top Piadeep Buch and Jan Privetivy 6-1, 6-1.
