Farmers market opens Thursday
The Yarmouth Farmers’ Market returns to the Town Hall Memorial Green on Thursdays from 3-7 p.m., rain or shine, beginning May 15, with a grand opening May 29.
The market offers meats, cheese, milk, eggs, fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, seedlings, flowers, green cleaning products, baked goods, gluten-free baked goods, fish and more. Picnic on the green with Pizza By Fire, Wicked Good Dogs, Pure Pops, and Old Ocean House Farms smoothies. For updates and market events see the Yarmouth Farmers Market on Facebook.
Chamber hosting candidates forum
The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce will host a local candidates forum on Wednesday, May 21, at 7 p.m., at the Log Cabin, Main Street. The forum is a chance for the public to hear from the candidates for the Town Council and the School Board. The event will be a question-and-answer format and will last about 90 minutes.
Blood drive next week
A community blood drive will be held Thursday, May 22, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., at the North Yarmouth Academy Gym. The event is co-sponsored by the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce and NYA. For an appointment, call 800-Red Cross or see www.redcrossblood.org.
Open house at Public Works
Yarmouth Public Works is hosting an open house on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., rain or shine, at its facility on 56 North Road. Those who attend can see what’s being done to serve, maintain and improve the town and speak with staff about departmental operations. There will be displays by police, fire and rescue units, pollution control equipment, parks equipment and vintage trucks. History center hosts readers
Merrill Memorial Library’s spring Reader’s Circle is meeting at the Yarmouth History Center, 118 Elm St., at 7 p.m. monthly. Registration is not required. The theme this season is Morality and Immorality. The upcoming dates and books are:
