TOPSHAM — The Ararat 14U Eagles AAU baseball team beat the Maine Riptide 9-3 and 12-1 over the weekend.
In the 9-3 win, Nate Leslie led with two hits, a run and RBI, while Nick Merrill and Sam Alexander each had a hit and two RBIs.
Garrett Moody, Liam Huston and Caden Temple each drove in a run and the Eagles broke it wide open with seven runs in the fifth inning.
On mound, Cam Grant went 2.2 innings with seven walks and a strike and Temple went 4.1 innings with four walks and nine strikeouts.
In the 12-1 win, the Eagles banged out 10 hits with Ryan Mello, Alexander and Grant each notching two, while Merrill, Leslie, Kyle Brennan and Temple had one each.
Brennan, Alexander, Ryan Glass and Grant each had an RBI.
Moody went four innings on the mound with a walk and six strikeouts. Merrill twirled two innings with a walk and four strikeouts and Mello had two walks and a strikeout in his inning of work.
The Eagles scored three runs in the fourth and five in the seventh to win going away.
