A couple of years ago, my aunt was a victim of the Jamaican lottery scam and lost more than $100,000. At that time, I came into contact with York County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bill King.
King is an expert on the scams, and provided a lot of guidance to my aunt and my family. I found him to be very passionate about this horrible crime that is robbing our seniors.
King is running for sheriff, and I strongly urge all voters to vote for him in the Democratic primary election on June 10. As sheriff, he will be able to continue working for the citizens of York County and fighting to bring an end to lottery scamming. I am concerned that without King, this crime will continue.
Please vote for Bill King for sheriff.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
