SACO — An Old Orchard Beach man has been ordered to pay $370 after a plea agreement was reached in relation to assault and unlawful sexual contact charges stemming from a May 2013 incident at Cascade Falls.
Allen Hahn was fined $300 and ordered to pay an additional $70 in surcharges and assessment, for a total of $370, as part of his no contest plea agreement at York County Superior Court in Alfred on Wednesday.
Hahn, 64, of Old Orchard Beach, was arrested on the afternoon of May 3, 2013 and charged with unlawful sexual contact and assault.
An undercover detective along with Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland had gone to Cascade Park that afternoon as part of a stepped up police presence to address complaints of suspicious and illegal behavior.
The undercover officer walked down one of the trails overlooking the Cascade Falls when he was approached by a male, later identified as Hahn, according to Holland. Holland said that after a brief conversation, Hahn stepped toward the officer, reached out, grabbed the officer’s genitals through his clothing and asked, “Are we doing this?”
At that point, the officer identified himself and placed Hahn under arrest, according to Holland.
Holland said the stepped up police presence at Cascade Falls will continue this year.
