ALFRED — For now, York County Commissioners will continue to hold their meetings at 4:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month for most of the year.

But they’ll talk about adjusting the time of the sessions when they meet again Feb. 5.

Wednesday’s meeting, at the York County government building on Route 4, saw three of the five-member board present: Chairwoman Sallie Chandler and Commissioners Gary Sinden and Michael Cote. Richard Dutremble and Dan Cabral did not attend.

Cote, of Shapleigh, suggested a later start time for the meetings, but agreed that it was a subject better left for the full board to discuss. He suggested bumping up the start time to 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m., giving the public more opportunity to attend.

“It’s food for thought,” he said.

Commissioners decided to hold off until the full board is present to select a chairman and vice chairman for 2014, but they did set some rates for county employees on mileage and meal reimbursements. The county follows the Internal Revenue Service rates on mileage. Set at 56.5 cents per mile now, it will decrease a bit, to 56 cents per mile, per the IRS rate.

Reimbursement for those who dine while on county business remain the same as 2013: $10 to $15 for breakfast, $15 for lunch and $20 for dinner.

Police accident and incident reports and background check fees will stay at $15, the same as 2013, while notarization and attestation fees will be $5 and $10, respectively, the same as last year.
