BRUNSWICK — To benefit the rebuilding of Unitarian Universalist Church on Pleasant Street, the Merrymeeting Singers will present a choral music concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Minnie Brown Center, 862 Washington St., in Bath.
The show, directed by Larry Lemmel, will open with the Kyrie from Schubert’s “Mass in A-Flat,” followed by three Samuel Barber settings of famous American poems. A wide variety of chorale music, four English folk song settings by Ralph Vaughan Williams and a series of Broadway hits by Ira Gershwin and Cole Porter also will be performed.
The church was destroyed by fire in 2011. Photos and drawings of the new church will on be display. For tickets, call 729-8515: adults, $10; children younger than 12 free.
