BRUNSWICK — The Maine Institute for Family- Owned Business and its 2014 Maine Family Business Awards, presented in partnership with the law firm Verrill Dana, takes place at the Marriott Sable Oaks in South Portland on May 19. The gala evening begins with networking and ends with awards in seven categories presented to Maine firms for their many accomplishments.
Any Maine-based, familyowned business is eligible. Nominations are made by those in — or outside — the business. Forms can be downloaded at www.fambusiness.org or by contacting the institute office at 798- 2667.
Nominations and the first of the three-part process are due Jan. 17. Nominees then are given ample time to submit the second and third sections.
