BRUNSWICK

Be amazed when the King of the Goblins bellows that he will prevent the lighting of Hanukkah candles, or at how Santa’s eight reindeer come when Mrs. Claus calls them.

And sympathize, perhaps, with a little girl on Prince Edward Island who bursts into tears when she fears Santa might not get her note.

Scenes featuring these three main characters, plus several other sketches, appear in “Not Your Typical Holiday Show” performed at The Theater Project by the Center Stage Players, Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15.

The Players, who will be accompanied by clarinetist Brad Terry, are part of The Theater Project of Brunswick, headed by founder and Artistic Director Al Miller.

Membership in The Center Stage Players is open to all, and no previous acting experience is necessary. Center Stage Players’ ages range from late 50s to 97, and their backgrounds are equally varied.

Whatever their background, the actors all aim at having fun onstage, taking their cue from Miller, who believes that having fun should be an essential factor in an actor’s performance.

To be an actor at the Theater Project means your work becomes play. And audiences seem to find this zest contagious.

“Not Your Typical Holiday Show” will be onstage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

Tickets are “ pay what you want,” available online anytime at www.theaterproject.com, or by calling the box office at 729-8584.

The Theater Project is located at 14 School St., in Brunswick.
