AUGUSTA (AP) — A judge has ordered a man charged with stabbing another man to death to be held without bail.

The 30-year-old Vassalboro man is charged with murder in connection with the death of 69-year-old Thomas Namer of Waterville.

The accused was in Kennebec Superior Court Tuesday morning. Another hearing is expected after Thanksgiving.

According to a state police affidavit, the man told police Namer molested him when he was 11. The affidavit says he told police he killed Namer last week after the older man made sexual advances toward him.

Police have said the two men had known each other for some time.

A lawyer representing the accused declined comment.
