Lt. Robert Savary said Bath police were called to Lincoln Street at around 4:35 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report that Benjamin Woodruff, 42 of Bath, had thrown a glass bottle against a house, damaging the siding.
When the responding officer arrived, Woodruff smashed another bottle against the side of the building, Savary said. Woodruff, who police believe has mental health issues, was taken into custody and allegedly fought with officers and kicked one of the officers in the back while in the booking room; and threatened to kill the responding officers after he is released from jail, Savary said. The officer who was kicked was no injured.
Woodruff was charged with criminal mischief, assault and criminal threatening and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail where he remained Thursday.
