ORONO — Damon Lynn scored 24 points and four other New Jersey Institute of Technology players reached double figures Tuesday night in an 88-82 victory over Maine.
Lynn, who averages 20.7 points per game, made four 3- pointers and was 5 of 6 from the line down the stretch. NJIT (3-2) led by as much as 17 in the second half and never trailed. Terrence Smith added 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Maine (1-3) closed within nine with 1:44 remaining and began forcing the Highlanders to the line, where they hit 12 of 13.
Dimitry Coronel was 10 of 19 from the field with a gamehigh 29 points to lead the Bears. Shaun Lawton added 12 points and a game-high eight assists. It was the second game in as many starts where Lawton led in assists.
