FREEPORT — The Freeport Community Library is pleased to be featuring an exhibit of photography by Judy Plouffe titled “New Beginnings – Sunrises of Freeport” during the month of November.
Judy moved to Freeport in November 2011 from Montpelier, Vermont having always wanted to live by the ocean. A native of Massachusetts, she spent many summers on Cape Cod as well as at Maine beaches enjoying the waves, smells, and beauty of the ocean.
After seeing her Freeport sunrise, she decided to begin a yearlong project of photographing the sunrise every morning for a year. She described the project as “an awe-inspiring experience to capture the unique pattern, coloration and brightness of each sunrise.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
