
A motorist was killed when his car went off the road and crashed into a parked car Wednesday.
Police identified the driver as Paul Hurd, 64, of Bath and Phippsburg.
Hurd was a teacher at Hyde School in Bath.
Bath police Cpl. Jason Aucoin and Officer Shaun Cavanaugh responded to an emergency call shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a serious motor vehicle accident at 462 High St.

It was quickly determined that Hurd had been killed.
Evidence at the scene indicated that the vehicle was traveling south on High Street and veered off the roadway near 468 High St. and continued up a small grade and collided with the parked car in the driveway of 462 High St.
The crash is under investigation, but police said thismorning there is no evidence of drugs or alcohol and they believe the crash may have been caused by a medical issue.
An autopsy will be performed.
