BRUNSWICK — Frontiers of Music, the onging contemporary music series hosted by Frontier Café, continues on Nov. 14 with a concert that features compositions by music students from Bates, Bowdoin and Colby colleges, as well as University of Southern Maine.
Featured composers are Colby College senior Luke Martin, who has received the Kennedy Center Award for Outstanding Musical Composition.
From Bates College, a group of composers studying with Visiting Assistant Professor and Bates College Orchestra Conductor Scott Ordway will present a collection of recent piano works.
“In Three,” a work for string trio by Bowdoin College senior Aleph Cervo, explores the musical possibilities of the number 3.
Fellow Bowdoin students Nickolas Telenson (violin), Daniel Lesser (cello), and Yowon Yoon (piano) will perform Cervo’s work.
Showtime is 7 p.m.; admission will be ‘name your price.’ It will be the final concert for 2013, the second year of Frontiers of Music, but the series will return in mid-January to begin its third year.
