In a big move to bring back an iconic name to the American market, Jeep, Chrysler’s very popular SUV division, is now introducing a completely new mid-sized Cherokee.
Indeed, Jeep has designed a completely new vehicle around the Cherokee theme. To start off, the revamped Cherokee is built on a new platform extrapolated from a Fiat design, making this a truly international vehicle. It will be offered with front- or all-wheel drive and will be powered by an economical four-cylinder engine or an all-new Pentastar V-6.
Fear not, though. Even if it bears a totally new design with a different approach, the Cherokee is still available as a tough off-road-worthy SUV when ordered with the proper equipment. For those who want a tamer urban light truck, it is available with the appropriate mechanicals.
