BRUNSWICK — Blackberry Books, Spindleworks and Gulf of Maine Books invite the community to a publishing party for “A Look Back” by Anna McDougal at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Gulf of Maine Bookstore, 134 Maine St.
McDougal is an artist at Spindleworks in Brunswick, an athlete, a food activist and an author, who lives on a farm in Wiscasset with her family. She has written about her life, living a creative, inspiring life while dealing with Down Syndrome.
S he says “The reason for this book is that I overcame so much in my life. It’s about how I overcame obstacles and looking back on my life.”
McDougal talks about her life as an artist, her problems with gluten and food allergies, appearing onstage with the Indigo Girls, raising organic food, eating with Alice Waters, and the love and support of her family, and of the larger Spindleworks community. This is a book filled with love, filled with life.
