BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School “A” field hockey team won a competitive game against Lewiston, 2-1 on Tuesday.
Shea Sullivan scored the first goal of the game with 36 seconds left in the first half. Brunswick’s second goal came at the 17:10 mark of the second half as center link Anna Rider drove the ball in past the Lewiston goalie from the top of the circle.
With 10:53 left in the game, Lewiston scored a goal.
Standout team play allowed Brunswick forwards to bring the ball into Lewiston’s circle. Shea, Logan Gillis, Erin Coughlin, Eliza Rudalevige, Harriet Peabody, Liberty Krauss, Kristen Hummer and Mallory Palmer all contributed.
They received strong support from the links, Rider, Maggie Folsom, Rayna Sage, Alexis Guptill, Emily Anderson and Elicia Edwards. Madi Bailey and Grace Casey shared the goal with a combined nine saves.
They received super help from their defense of Ainsley Harrower, Emma Nickerson, Erin Bradstreet and Kenzie Burrows.
The Huskies are now 4-2-1.
