TOPSHAM

Selectman James Trusiani will not run for re-election in November.

Nomination papers were due this week for Topsham candidates running for the Board of Selectmen and School Administrative District 75 Board of Directors.

Town Clerk Ruth Lyons said incumbent Selectman Marie Brillant is running for re-election.

William Thompson, who ran in the most recent municipal election for a seat on the Board of Selectmen, also has turned in nomination papers and will run for one of two available seats.

Trusiani was elected in January to an unexpired term on the board vacated by Andrew Mason, who won the House District 60 race in November 2012.

Thompson ran against Trusiani in that three-way race and lost against incumbent Donald Russell for a seat on the board in November 2012.

Two seats will expire in November on the SAD 75 school board. The current school board representatives whose terms are up, Holly Kopp and Scott McKernan, are both seeking re-election.
