BRUNSWICK Police today released the name of a body found Saturday near Bay Bridge Estates mobile home park. John C. Monteith III, of Lisbon, was discovered in a wooded area about 1:30 p.m. behind Franklin Parkway by two area youths, aged 14 and 15, respectively. Monteith, 31, had been reported missing the day prior to his death. His Facebook page also contained several postings from a friend who last had seen the man on Wednesday and urged anyone who saw him to contact police. Maine State Police also assisted with the investigation into the man’s death, but said the incident is not considered suspicious. jtleonard@timesrecord.com

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
