Army Reserve Lt. Col. Kathleen J. Porter has graduated from the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pa., and earned a master’s degree in Strategic Studies. The college is the Army’s senior educational institution.

The 10-month curriculum is designed to prepare and train officers of all the military branches of service, foreign military officers, as well as senior civilian officials of federal agencies, to serve in top-level command and staff positions with the U.S. Armed Forces worldwide.

Porter is assigned to Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, Calif. She has served in the military for 23 years.

She is the daughter of Jean Porter of Woods Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa., and niece of Jim and Maureen Porter of Mere Point Road, Brunswick.

Her husband, Anthony Logan. Porter graduated in 1984 from East Stroudsburg High School, Pa., and received a bachelor of arts in 1990 from Florida International University, Miami. She also earned a master of arts in 2005 from the University of South Florida, Tampa.
