BRUNSWICK — An educational presentation regarding amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly called ALS or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” will be offered Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, 58 Baribeau Drive.

Dr. John Taylor, a neurologist with Mid coast Medical Group, will give the talk as part of the monthly Ounce of Prevention series.

ALS is a degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. This presentation will help participants learn about the disorder, its treatment and some of the research being done to find a cure.
