BRUNSWICK — People try, then give up golf for several reasons. High on the list is lack of success — what appears on television as a simple exercise in striking a ball that is not moving often proves otherwise.
“We’re told that a common mistake made by first-time golfers is trying to play without proper instruction,” said Gina Weathersby, executive director of the Institute for Family-Owned Business, whose organization is welcoming Institute members and non-members to take up golf. “We’re inviting all women to our first ‘Pitch, Putt & Pour’ where our goal is to offer basic instruction and to make golf a social event.”
“Pitch, Putt & Pour” is set to take place at Falmouth Country Club on Monday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Falmouth’s head professional Sean Barrett, PGA, who is organizing the clinic, said the “singular goal is to make the game more enjoyable.”
The clinic fee is $45 per person, which includes instruction, golf clubs, food and beverage.
