HARPSWELL — The DaPonte String Quartet launches its third summer concert series and features the return of an audience favorite, soprano Karol Bennett.
Bennett joins the quartet for the “Sunrise/Sunset” series to sing selected Bach arias. The rest of the program comprises works by Haydn, Respighi and Verdi.
The series will be performed the week of Aug. 6 in Harpswell and Boothbay Harbor. Rounding out the week is an additional performance of just the Bach arias at the Choir Festival at St. Luke’s Cathedral in Portland on Aug. 9.
“Sunrise/Sunset” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Centennial Hall, Harpswell, and Aug. 8 at St. Columba’s Church, Boothbay Harbor. For tickets, visit www.DaPonte.org.
The Choir Festival in Portland is at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9. Tickets are available from St. Luke’s Cathedral, 772-5434.
