BRUNSWICK — Tedford Housing recognized several outstanding community leaders at its recent annual meeting held, at the Captain Daniel Stone.
The Tedford Home Award, given to organizations that have done significant work for Tedford, was accepted by Linda Collins for the Rotary Brunswick Coastal and Dave Gleason for Rotary Brunswick.
The Scooty Brownell Award, named in memory of Tedford supporter Mary Scott “Scootie” Brownell, was given to Tedford’s board Treasurer Irene Martin and past board President, Sagadhoc County Sheriff Joel Merry, for their support over many years.
The Marigit Cook Award, which recognizes longtime volunteers nominated by Tedford staff, was given to Tite Brown of Bath Iron Works and Will Montag, Bowdoin College class of 2013.
Tedford’s Donna Verhoeven was recognized for five years of excellence in her work with homeless students in RSU 1, MSAD 75 and the Brunswick school system.
Alicia Lussier of Bath accepted an appointment to Tedford’s Board of Directors.
Tedford Housing provides emergency shelter in Brunswick and low-income housing and homelessness prevention services in Midcoast and central Maine.
