Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist Saturday.

Brunswick Police Lt. Tom Garrepy said in a news release that Brunswick police, fire and rescue were called at around 11:12 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Bath Road near Maine Mattress and Futons. Upon arrival, officers discovered the crash involved a motorcycle and pickup truck.

The driver of the 2001 Honda CBR929 motorcycle, David Lamontagne, 45, of Monmouth, was found unresponsive in the parking lot of the mattress store, Garrepy said. Rescue personnel began life-saving efforts and transported Lamontagne to Mid Coast Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

The pickup truck, a 2003 Ford F-250, was driven by Roger Reid, 78, of Harpswell. Reid was not injured.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Brunswick Police Department and its collision reconstruction unit.
