BATH — The Bath Freight Shed Alliance will feature the work by artist, farmer and community organizer Maina Handmaker.

Her black paper cutouts and letterpress prints inspired by her time at Milkweed Farm in Brunswick and daily work at Six River Farm in Bowdoinham will be on exhibit at the Freight Shed today through Sunday, which is the first of the Full Moon Dinners.

Advanced reservations for the Full Moon Dinners are required.

The opening Handmaker’s work will be today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The show will also be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Handmaker is spearheading the effort to preserve Brunswick’s Freight Shed for a year-round farmers market. Both the Bath and Brunswick freight sheds were listed on Maine Preservation’s 2012 “most endangered list” as good examples of mercantile architecture and adaptive reuse.

Sunday’s Full Moon Dinner is sold out, but other dinners will be held Monday, July 22, with Ray Franklyn and food by Solo Bistro; Tuesday, Aug. 20, with Jon Merry and Dragonfly Cove Farm; and Thursday, Sept. 19 with Tim O’Brien and Trattoria Athena and Enoteca Athena.

Set at the Freight Shed, overlooking the Kennebec River, these dinners will be catered by local chefs featuring local produce, cheese, meats with wine and Maine beer. Space is limited to 42 per dinner.
