AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine corrections officials say a 37- year-old inmate has escaped from home confinement 10 days before his sentence was due to end.
The Department of Corrections issued an alert to law enforcement agencies Wednesday night saying Jerome Cole escaped from his home confinement arrangement. Officials said he was living in a home in southern Maine, but wouldn’t divulge his specific location.
Cole was serving a two-year sentence for forgery and theft by unauthorized taking and was scheduled to be released June 15.
