BRUNSWICK
Call it “Dollhouse, Part Deux.”
Four years ago, Elijah Kellogg Congregational Church raffled off an elaborate dollhouse and netted almost $5,000.
Now, the church’s fundraising team has decided to try it again, with a new dollhouse.
Harpswell resident Donna Olsen started the house about 25 years ago, but never completed it.
She submitted it about halfdone to the church which, in turn, handed it to local master carpenter and Kellogg project “go-to-guy” Bill Greenwood, who finished it off.
Carol Quimby and Nancy Patterson have the house now and will outfit it with wall paper, working lights and other Lilliputian écoutrements.
“This house is even better than the first,” said Nancy Schlieper, the church’s de facto fundraising chairwoman. “A lot of money has gone into it.”
Tickets will go on sale this summer; the winner will be drawn in November.
Meanwhile, when completed, the house will be set up for viewing at Quimby’s store, C. Periwinkle & Co., 543 Harpswell Neck Road.
