BRUNSWICK — Ray Labbe and Durham battled to a 7-7 tie in Brunswick Cal Ripken Baseball Major Division action on Wednesday night.

Labbe led 4-0, but Durham scored one in the second inning and two in the third. Durham took a 7-4 lead with four runs in the top of the fifth inning on hits by Ed Brousseau, Caleb Jepson and Jacob Tomm.

Nate Girardin, Zach Boyle and David Gordon scored in the fifth to tie the game and Durham made a nice defensive play at the plate, catching Ben Wilson trying to steal home for the third out to end the game.

Evan Marquis and Jacob Tomm pitched for Durham and combined for four hits, five walks and 11 strikeouts.

Girardin, Gordon, Liam Hemberger, Boyle and Hunter Parker all pitched one inning for Labbe’s and allowed seven hits with six walks and 12 strikeouts.

For Durham, Tomm led a home run in the second inning, two singles and two runs. Ed Brousseau had two singles and two runs, Josh Burke two walks and two runs; Jepson a hit and a run, Evan Marquis a hit, and Caiden Laird and Hunter Howe each walked and stole a base.

Girardin led Labbe’s with a hit and two runs, while Brandon Johnston had a double and a run, Gordon a single and Wilson an RBI-single. Hemberger drew three walks and played well defensively.
