BATH — Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District, the Maine Forest Service and Kennebec Estuary Land Trust are partnering to offer a workshop for anyone interested in learning best management practices for water management and protection at small- or largescale timber harvests.
The free workshop is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 21 at the Bath City Hall auditorium.
The workshop will start with presentations at the auditorium and will move outside to visit a nearby timber harvest to see practices in action. It is suggested that participants bring a bag lunch. Continuing education credits are offered.
Those interested should pre-register for the workshop by May 17.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
