AUGUSTA (AP) — A housing fair to help people displaced from their homes by recent fires in Lewiston is being held by Maine state agencies.
The event is scheduled for this afternoon at the Lewiston office of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
The Maine State Housing Authority, Maine Department of Health and Human Services and local support agencies want to help connect prospective tenants with landlords. Property managers with vacant apartments are encouraged to attend the housing fair, and may call Maine- Housing to reserve a space at 626-4600.
Also, landlords and property managers can advertise their vacant units for free on Maine’s rental housing connection, MaineHousingSearch.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
