FALMOUTH — Maine Audubon is looking for volunteers to “lend an ear” to help observe the presence of frogs and toads in local vernal pools and wetlands.

Maine Audubon started the Maine Amphibian Monitoring Program in 1997 — part of a nationwide effort to better understand amphibians.

Volunteers drive an assigned route three times during the spring and stop at designated areas to observe the presence of nine amphibian species. A free online training is available.
