BATH
A Pine Street resident hopped onto the hood of the neighbor’s pickup truck during an argument Tuesday, then fell off as the man drove away, police said Wednesday.
Shawn Cook refused medical treatment when Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department Cpl. Aaron Skolfield responded to his call, Bath police Sgt. Jeff Shiers said.
Skolfield responded to the call at 3:41 p.m.
Shiers said Cook and Lawrence Heffron, the owner of the green Dodge pickup, had been arguing about a domestic situation.
“They were having a verbal altercation,” Shiers said. “They live across the street from each other. Cook jumped on his truck and tried to stop Heffron from leaving. Heffron drove off, and Cook fell off.”
No charges were filed.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
