Kathryn “KT” Connors has been selected one of 27 outstanding career and technical education students in the state.
She was selected by the faculty of the Bath Regional Career and Technical Center to represent the school at a statewide celebration of the best students in Maine.
Connors, a senior at Wiscasset High School, is a second-year student in the culinary arts program, focused on commercial baking and pastries. She has been a leader in the school’s culinary arts programs for the past two years as the dining room manager of the student-run cafe.
She was a local competition winner two years in a row, in addition to serving as a SkillsUSA officer. She has served as a mentor to students both at BRCTC and her sending school.
At Wiscasset High School, Connors helps freshmen and new students transition to high school as a student ambassador and mentor.
An honor roll student, she also played on the tennis team and was in the garden club.
Connors, the daughter of Keith and Peggi Connors, plans to attend Eastern Maine Community College to study business and culinary arts next year.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
