Police arrested a Saco woman who became involved in an altercation with a man while holding a knife Sunday morning.

Richmond police Sgt. Adam Garland said he and another officer responded at 10 a.m. to a report that neighbors in a Hatch Street trailer park were involved in a fight involving a knife.

The altercation had ended when police arrived, Garland said.

After piecing together what had happened, police arrested Ann-Marie Mack, 36, of Saco, charged her with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, and transported her to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. She is scheduled to appear at West Bath District Court on June 11.

Garland said while the source of the argument is unclear, Mack was visiting a resident of the trailer park and confronted a man across the street in an effort to defend the person she was visiting. She allegedly confronted the man on his porch and pulled a knife on him during the altercation that ensued. The knife was described as the size of a steak knife, Garland said.

Though Mack allegedly “kept coming at him,” the man repeatedly shoved her off the porch, Garland said. The woman’s friend intervened and pulled her away before police arrived. No one was injured.

Upon his arrival, there were about 12 people in the street who had watched the altercation, Garland said. Police interviewed them, along with Mack and the alleged victim.
